Damen FYS 6710

The Damen FYS 6710 68 m. Fast Yacht Supply Vessel type Axebow is engineered with MTU motors and Reintjes gearboxes that are controlled by a four-fold CruiseCommand system. There are four locations on board from which the system can be controlled: on the main bridge (imbedded in the dashboard), on two outside wings and in the engine room. The gearboxes are equipped with an active brake and the control station in the engine room has a bridge release option. Finally, a backup telegraph system is incorporated in the installation.

Damen FCS 5009

The Caterpillar motor and Reintjes gearboxes of the Damen FCS 5009, a 52 m. Fast Crew Supplier type Axebow are equipped with a four-fold CruiseCommand system. The system can be controlled from two captain seats, located at different places on the vessel and the gearboxes have high and low idle options. Moreover, this installation is equipped with Dynamic Positioning.

Nassima yacht

The “Nassima” controls its two MTU engines with two ClearCommand 2322 propulsion systems, in combination with a personalized Straathof Controls emergency system installed in the engine room and two ZF auto-troll gearboxes.

Joystick Demonstration at Europort 2017

During Europort Rotterdam 2017 we presented the iQJ joystick system by means of a model simulation. Visitors could use a joystick to control a model ship in a water tank, to experience the comforts and nuances of this innovative system.

The key feature of the operation of the iQJ joystick control system is the principle of a static situation: all impellers are stopped when the joystick is not touched. This works easier than joysticks that work according to dynamic positioning, whereby the ship is kept dynamically on course at all times. In contrast to the pricey high-end dynamic positioning systems that require all kinds of measuring equipment, our iQJ joystick is a lot simpler and therefore more affordable.
