Remote controls are convenient to steer a vessel from an arbitrary position on deck. Essential and possible secondary functions can be administered at any location on the ship, when the propulsion control system is combined with the controls of, among others, the rudder, and the bow and stern thrusters. Those control components can be assembled together in a watertight housing made out of aluminum and plastic.
